About East Valley CEC:

We are currently the only CEC chapter at this time in the state of Arizona.  We serve professionals, parents, and support staff in the field of special education in the East Valley which include the following school districts:

Participation from other areas/schools are always welcome.

Activities and Programs that we accomplish each year include: book studies with re-certification hours, workshops on current topics, and an awards ceremony to celebrate outstanding teachers, students, support staff, and parents.

Celebrating Differences

Celebrating Differences is a disability awareness program that is designed to increase understanding and acceptance of individual differences. The program uses literature, videos, guest speakers, and hands on activities to provide information, open up discussions and answer questions about autism, developmental delay, learning, physical, visual and hearing challenges. The goal is to promote positive attitudes and to recognize that individuals with disabilities are able to participate fully in life and should be regarded as differently abled rather than disabled.

East Valley CEC has developed kits that can be checked out to members to be used in their own class or entire school.
